When did The Rock start an incredulous diet?
A few weeks ago. He’s made a living out of beating people to pulp with his bare knuckles on-screen; kids hero-worship him, women drool over him and other men cower at the sight of him. But can you imagine Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson needing to go on a diet to, ahem, ‘improve’ his physique?
Yes, that’s exactly what Dwayne is upto in preparation for his role in the upcoming flick Hercules: The Thracian Wars in Budapest, Hungary. The action-adventure film directed by Brett Ratner is set to catapult the former WWE star into Hollywood super-stardom, following close in the wake of his successful films like Fast Five, Snitch, etc.
In order to get buff —yes, that is even more than usual —The Rock is on a quite incredulous diet recommended by his trainers. And that involves a carb and calorie-filled seven-meal-a day routine, which the actor posted on Twitter for his followers. The breakdown roughly equals around 3 pounds of meat, 6 cups of rice, 4 cups of veggies, 15 eggs, baked potatoes and close to 30 shakes — plus the blood of a Nemean lion (which is a fictional beast that appears in Hercules, so he might have been kidding about that)
Dwayne’s personal chef prepares all the food for him in pre-packaged delivery boxes, which he refers to as the ‘DemiGod diet’. The star even uploaded a picture of his refrigerator stacking his meals for the day!
The Rock had 17 championship reigns in WWE, is a best-selling author, and was paid $5.5 million for his role in The Scorpion King — a world record for an actor in his first starring role.
