Goa is where you can head this month end. Apart from the iconic Sunburn Festival that is happening between December 27 and 29, the Soulscape Music Festival takes place on December 23 and 24, making the finish to 2012 a very eventful one. Partygoers from the city are already in the groove and getting prepped to hit the shores.

Like every year, Sunburn was a huge success last year too but the delight was marred ever so slightly with rumours of the festival being cancelled this year. However, the official website has put up dates, line-up and more so young partyhoppers are excited! Vishesh Bhadani, a sales executive from Mumbai says, “I missed Sunburn last year and I heard it may be cancelled this year. I was so thrilled when I heard those rumours were false. I am looking at the website now to avail early bird offers. I hope to get some discounts.”
This will the sixth edition of Sunburn and the crowds are expected to be massive. Candolim is expected to a be a sea of revelry end of this month. The Soulscape Music Festival will also happen in Goa, at the Baaga Beach on 23 and 24 December. Since the dates are close to Sunburn, some partygoers are arriving in Goa in advance to experience Soulscape too. Mihika Vashisht, a business management graduate from Hyderabad says, “Since my winter vacations are going on from December 20 to January 2, I will attend both festivals. Soulscape sounds interesting and it’s going to be a weeklong party with my friends! I’m very excited.”
Featuring some of the biggest artists like Armin Van Buuren, Albin Myers, Dash Berlin, Nikhil Chinapa, Arjun Vagale, Anish Sood and more, EDM festivals like these have placed India on the map. DJ Varun says, “This year, we have seen such an impressive line up of artistes and the response is usually very impressive each year. We can expect fireworks at both festivals.” Asterix de Jesus, Astral Projection, Fatali, 1200 Mics, Audiogram, Forest Girl, DJ Anita Shanti will also be playing in Goa so there is ample variety for the hardcore partygoers.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
