When was the pup a part of the cat family?
The Cleveland Animal Protective League released a photo that shows an adorable kitten and Noland, the puppy, cosying up on Wednesday, June 19, as reported in the Associated Press. A cat, named Lurlene, who is already caring for four new-born kittens, is nursing the orphaned week-old pit bull puppy.
According to The Daily Mail, the puppy was dropped off at the animal shelter when he was just a day old. Lurlene happily welcomed the pup to her cat family. Bottle feeding doesn’t always work, which is why the staff at the shelter has allowed this inclusion to Lurlene’s brood. Sharon Harvey of the Cleveland Animal Protective league was quoted as saying, “ The survival rate of pups that old without their mom…is pretty iffy. Lurlene loves him. It’s so adorable.”
The puppy is happy to have found his new home and Harvey adds that he will be staying at the shelter for quite a while. Noland spends around nine hours with his new-found furry family. After all, home is where the family is. And we’re glad he’s found both! But what happens to his natural canine instincts when he grows up would be interesting to observe.
