Where did the windfall dream come true?
The East Midlands county in England has been famous till now for its link to Robin Hood and for the Sherwood Forest, but it is more famous now for being home to two sets of lottery winners who won within three weeks of each other.
Self-employed builder Gareth Bull, 40, and his wife, 35-year-old Catherine Bull, from Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, won the £40.6 million EuroMillions jackpot on January 20 this year.
Their lottery win was followed by that of 22-year-old engaged couple, Matt Topham and Cassey Carrington, who scooped £45.1-million EuroMillions lottery on February 7. The engaged couple lives in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, which is just 20 miles from Mansfield.
Coincidentally, both the male winners of the two lotteries are linked to the construction trade — Gareth Bull is a builder and Matt Topham is a painter and decorator. The EuroMillions tickets are sold in nine different countries — Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. The chance of two winners, living just 20 miles apart, was almost next to impossible, but the windfall dream came true for two couples in Nottinghamshire.
