Where is F.R.I.E.N.D.S. being revived?

When it first aired on NBC in 1994, FRIENDS didn’t just sneak up on us. It came barging through our television sets, had us all hooked on to its charms and soon became a much-loved sitcom worldwide. A decade later when it ended, a collective loss was felt by fans everywhere. But as they say, every ending is just a new beginning.
So when the producers and actors didn’t carry the series forward, die-hard fans decided to take it upon themselves to make sure FRIENDS went on for a little longer. Now a FRIENDS’ page on Facebook has the script for 16 episodes, starting with Season 11, Episode 1: The one with the next morning. Written by a fan called Dave, the scripts even have complete dialogues for the cast, just like the sitcom.
And the response from fellow fans? Revati Shivnekar commented, “awesome! I could picture every single detail u added! :D” Another user named Chetna Bansala said, “veryyyyyy niccceeeeeeeee!!!! Feeling like living with friends all over again”
Nikhil Bokare, an employee with DeShaw is fine with the concept as long as consistency is maintained. And by that he means as long as they split Monica and Chandler up or turn Joey into a homosexual! “I haven’t gone through the scripts, but I would love to. It sounds like a cool concept. As long as they don’t show any drastic changes, I am alright with it,” he says.
Priscilla Amal, a 23-year-old bank employee, who has read the scripts says, “They are good, really good. Add in a little of their expressions and mannerisms and voila, you’ll have the real deal!” Fans would rather have such scripts doing the rounds, than have their favourite characters gathering dust. “I would never think that the sanctity of the show is being compromised. This is part ‘fan fiction’. In fact, just so that these six characters stay alive I would rather have these scripts than not have anything at all,” she says.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
