Who is this most advanced bionic chef?
Eduardo Garcia is a sportsman and a chef and more importantly, he is the most advanced bionic man in the world.
He lost his left hand when he was accidentally electrocuted two years ago. A Portland-based company, called Advanced Arm Dynamics fitted Eduardo with a prosthetic that weighs just as much as a hand. According to Mashable, the prosthetic connects to his skin with electrodes that respond to the muscles in his forearm.
The hand lets him grip things in 25 different ways and it is so advanced that he can delicately split vanilla beans and butcher pheasants which he is required to do as a chef.
He told a TV show, “Me moving forward in life is not about having 10 fingers and 10 toes. It’s about who I am inside, what my inner drive and passion is to get out and do.” Two years on and he manages to works as a private chef in a restaurant and continues to hunt, where using a knife is vital.
