After painting her hair, nails, clothes, walls and finally the town pink, rapper Nicki Minaj took her love for everything pink to a new elevation when she drove into the Grammy awards ceremony in a completely pink, customised Bentley. Calling it the Barbie Bentley, the 28-year-old rapper attracted a lot of attention as she drove to the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles with her boyfriend Safaree in tow and a completely colour coordinated pink ensemble to go with her new pink ride. Nicki is not the only one who has professed her fuchsia love.
This craze for pink hot wheels was initiated by hotel heiress Paris Hilton who was the first to gift herself a fully done-up pink Bentley Continental GT.
Pink has always been a colour associated with girls, from baby cribs to Barbie dolls. “Pink is my all time favourite colour, it’s soft, feminine and goes with every skin tone. My room walls at home have been pink ever since I can remember, but now I’ve grown up, I have taken to other colours as well. It depends upon individual choice, but I would never buy an all pink car like Nicki or Paris, because according to me it’s a little too outlandish and even kiddish to an extent,” says 18-year-old singer Blessy Thomas.
The rapper, however, did end up with three Grammy awards that night and later posted a picture of her standing beside her pink ride wearing a vintage Barbie jacket with a caption that read ‘Ya luv it?!!’
