Why are Flintstones fans excited?

The loveable prehistoric family is making a comeback. And to the big screen, no less, with the help of professional wrestlers! Yes, Fred, Wilma, Barney and Betty will soon attend a wrestling event where they shall come across the likes of WWE stars like John Cena and CM Punk who are voicing themselves.

Wrestler Cena’s brand association with The Flintstones actually has history; as the muscled superstar of the ring here replaced cartoon character Fred as the face of cereal Fruity Pebbles after Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson used the term as an insult on him, due to Cena’s fondness for vibrant clothing, reported The Guardian. Cena appears alongside another character Bamm-Bamm on the cereal boxes, including those for Cocoa Pebbles.
This untitled project shall be the second collaboration between WWE and Warner Bros., after the new Scooby Doo movie was announced a little earlier.
The plot for that movie involves Shaggy winning tickets to WWE’s flagship event WrestleMania, and the gang attending the show to solve a case.
