Why is this artist bursting balloons?
Fabian Oefner, a Swiss photographer, has managed to create an entire series of works, using colour and the force of a popped balloon’s air pressure for his portraits. He covers each balloon with acrylic paint and clicks his much detailed pictures the second these balloons are pricked with a needle.
In just a matter of seconds, he manages to click many pictures and select one, which is close to his original idea. The artist says that this series, titled ‘Liquid Jewels’, is special as one can clearly see how these individual shades start to mix with each other which form beautiful colour combinations, lasting just a few seconds. According to Mashable, the artist says his works are about capturing a firework of colours, frozen in time.
