Shah Rukh Khan sports a men’s scarf in Jab Tak Hai Jaan

Shah Rukh Khan is sporting it in Jab Tak Hai Jaan and it adds to the superstar’s style statement in the film. The men’s scarf as a fashion accessory is back in vogue. Solid colours or striped, in woven or in silk, the scarf is making a comeback this season.

Models, college students or actors, the style-conscious urban male is flaunting the scarf at all occasions.
“It definitely makes a person stand out in a crowd. It usually adds to the person’s attire but you need to be careful on how you work out an interesting combination,” says RJ Sriram. Though it is most preferred with a pull-over or a blazer, a silk scarf is what the uber rich prefer on a special occasion. Though a look from the 70’s, boys say, it has always been a preferred style. “It definitely looks classy. I can just think of Rajesh Khanna who always used to pair the scarf with his attire onscreen and off-screen. Even Dilip Kumar carried off the look well. I prefer Rohit Verma scarves and usually sport the look during winters, especially when I am heading out in the evenings,” says actor Angad Hasija.
Be it a fancy designer label or a local buy, most men say, a scarf adds colour to a plain attire. “I feel scarves look great with white clothes. It’s a combination that has its own appeal. I usually like to pick up Rohit Bal scarves but frankly I don’t mind buying one from a local shop as well,” says actor Mrunal Jain.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
