She is a very popular face on TV, having done several advertisements and popular TV shows. Actress Yaami Gautam is currently enjoying her presence in Bollywood. After winning accolades for her performance in Vicky Donor, she is looking forward to working with established actors like Anupam Kher, Ajay Devgn and Prabhudeva.
The actress will be starring opposite actor-singer Ali Zafar in her upcoming film. “In Aman Ki Asha, I will be seen playing Asha, an Indian Punjabi girl and Ali is playing Aman, a Pakistani Muslim boy. The film directed by Eeshwar Nivas is ready to go on floors by the end of this month,” she shares.
The actress further points out, “The film delves on India and Pakistan ties without being too jingoistic. Neeraj Pandey is known for his different yet entertaining films, so the viewers should expect even this one written by him to be different.”
Talking about her experience of sharing the silver screen with Ali, Gautam says, “He is such a fabulous actor and is a multitasker. He is an actor, singer, music composer and a good human being. There is so much to learn from him.”
The 24-year-old is excited to be featured in an untitled directorial venture by the veteran dancer Prabhudeva. “I will start shooting for this film next month where I will be seen paired opposite Ajay Devgn,” says the actor who was seen in the capital for the launch of Forever 21 store.
The actress adds, “I am very lucky to get a chance to work with superstars like Prabhudeva and Ajay Devgn at such an initial stage of my career. This is definitely going to be an enriching experience for me.”
Apart from faring well in Bollywood, the young actress is also waiting for the release of her Tamil film Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum, Telugu film Courier Boy Kalyan and will also be seen in the upcoming Telugu film Yuddham.
The diva’s fashion mantra is to keep it simple and minimalistic. “I have a great collection of jeans in almost every shade. Also, I have peep-toe sandals and pumps in a variety of colours. So even if I wear a simple top, I pep it up with a good pair of footwear. Also, a trendy A-line dress or well-fitted black dress is a wardrobe must-have for me for a great evening,” she adds.
When asked about whom she admires the most among Bollywood stars, she promptly replies, “I find Mr Bachchan one of the most stylish actors. He ranks among the topmost best-dressed Indians ever. He has not only been the Bollywood king since his first hit Zanjeer in 1973, but has also been a great source of inspiration for the younger Bollywood brigade,” she says
Talking about her recipe for happiness, Gautam concludes, “I think one should feel confident about themselves. Eat whatever you feel like, indulge in shopping, wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and live life to the fullest. If you are happy and contented as an individual, that comes across on-screen as well.”
