Zeenat faces the arclights again
Goa, known for its beach shacks, bars and night clubs is donning a rather chick look these days. Playing host to one the most presitgious fashion events — India Resort Fashion Week — seems to have given the place a little identity spin.
It’s probably the Goa effect that made veteran actress Zeenat Aman take to the stage after dodging the shutterbugs for the longest time. The yesteryear temptress stole the lime light as the show stopper at designer Riyaz Gangji’s show at IRFW. Standing pretty next to gen-next actress Madhurima Tulli who plays the lead in Cigaratte Ki Tarah, the actress looked every bit of the Satyam Shivam Sundaram belle that enchanted movie-goers in the 1970s.
Riyaz’s collection was christened Shimmering Sand inspired from renowned book The Sound of Waves by Japanese author Yukio Mishima. The designer perfectly emulated the same romance strikingly in his creations highlighting the soothing energies emitted from the sun kissed beige sand and the blue sea. Garments flowed into heavier adorned flowy gowns, saris adding a touch of shimmer with golden and subdued colour tones minimally embellished with appliqué work and sprinkled with crystal stones.
We were of course, were too enchanted to take our eyes off the original beauty queen.
