2 IM men recced Lalbaugcha Raja
The two Pakistani nationals, believed to be Indian Mujahideen cadre, who had stayed in Byculla prior to the 13/7 triple blasts had done a recce of the Lalbaugcha Raja between September 1 and 4, investigations have revealed. Sources said the duo could not gather the explosives on time and left for Delhi, where they are believed to have been involved in the September 7 blasts outside the Delhi high court.
Waqqas and Tabrez, the two suspected key IM members who were brought to the city by IM co-founder Yasin Bhatkal, had planned another terror strike in the city from their lodging in the Habib building in Byculla (west), sources said.
“The two had done a detailed reconnaissance of the Lalbaugcha Raja between September 1-4 as asked by their handlers. However, they did not get the explosives to be used for the strike, as after the July triple blasts the high security made it difficult to sneak in explosives into the city,” said a senior source.
“The two therefore left for Delhi where they were involved in the Delhi high court blast,” he added.
