6.5K law students await reval results
Despite a Bombay high court directive asking the University of Mumbai to declare revaluation results within 15 days of receiving applications from a student, the University has not declared results of nearly 6,500 law students who applied for revaluation in February.
The delay has forced students to fill the re-examination forms for the April 2013 exams due to uncertainty. The University officials, however, assured that the revaluation results would be declared before the start of the exams on April 10 after representatives from student groups met them.
Amit Rupani, a final year law student from N G Law College at Ulhasnagar said, “Most of us are in a dilemma on whether to appear for the ATKT (Allowed To Keep Term) exam or wait for the revaluation results. However, if we are declared failed in these results, we can appear for the ATKT exam only in the month of October.”
Like Rupani, other students who are facing the problem had no option but to take the help of student groups. Many students sought help from the students’ wing of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.
A delegation led by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists Santosh Gangurde and Advocate Manoj Tekade met the MU’s controller of examination to discuss the matter. Following this the examination department declared results of 799 students on Monday.
