Abducted 3-yr-old girl reunited with parents
Over a month after three-year-old Sangeeta was kidnapped at CST, she was finally reunited with her parents on Thursday. However, the motive of the abduction is still unclear.
The CST Government Railway Police (GRP), however, stated that the girl wasn’t forced into begging and the prime motive behind her abduction is yet to be confirmed.
The GRP said that the abductor gave her horlicks to drink and gave her talcum powder. “The accused Bhopal resident Raju Fallu Gaud (25) told Hardwar police that the girl was kidnapped for begging. However, we don’t have evidence whether she was forced to beg or not. We are investigating if there was any other motive,” said senior police inspector at CST GRP, Surendra Deshmukh.
He added that the preliminary medical reports suggest that she has not been sexually abused or physically tortured.
Sangeeta along with Gaud was brought to the city from Hardwar early on Thursday. Gaud was produced before a metropolitan court that has remanded him to police custody till July 18.
She will be formally handed over to her parents, who arrived from their hometown Parbhani in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, on Friday after a detailed medical examination.
