Actor held for ‘creating ruckus’
A 22-year-old aspiring actor from Lokha-ndwala Complex has been arrested for allegedly creating ruckus inside the Oshi-wara police station under the influence of alcohol in the early hours of Sunday. The accused, on the other hand, claimed that the Oshiwara police did not cooperate with him when he went to the police station to register a complaint and framed him instead.
According to the Oshiwara police, the accused Karan Pandit came to the police station on Sunday after his ATM card got stuck in an ATM in Jogeshwari.
“While taking out money, his card got stuck inside the ATM. The security guard there assured him that he would not lose any money and that he sho-uld return the next day to get back his card. However, Pandit, who was under the influence of alcohol, came to the police station and started abusing our official for not paying heed to his complaint,” said an official from Oshiwara police station.
“We have recorded the statement of one of Pandit’s friend who said that he got heavily drunk in a party. After abusing us, he even went charging on one of our officers and pushed around another. He has been booked under relevant Sections of the IPC. We have gained his custody till July 29,” added the official.
Pandit, however, refuted this and said that he just went to the police station to register a complaint, but the police misbehaved with him first.
