Anna in city for final leg of state tour
Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare will be in the city starting Tuesday to complete the final leg of his Maharashtra tour.
Mr Hazare is set to arrive in the city from Delhi at around 10.30 am. The anti-corruption crusader’s plan includes garlanding statues of eminent personalities on Tuesday, before he addresses a gathering in Parel, where he will ask the masses to join him in his fight for an effective Lokpal and Lokayukta.
Members of the Hazare-led Bhrasht-achar Virodhi Jan-Andolan Nyas said that they were making efforts to create awareness, undeterred by the low turnout during the fast in the city in December 2011.
Mr Hazare will address the rally at the Kamgar ground at Parel at 6 pm. The 74-year-old will address a gathering in Vashi on Wednesday and in Thane on Thursday.
