Bizman held for molestation

A 41-year-old rich businessman’s tactics to win back his doctor girlfriend on her birthday went awry, as he ended up in jail for allegedly molesting her.
According to the Bangur Nagar police, the accused, Punit Shirangi, and the 28-year-old victim Snehalata (name changed) knew each other and were in a live-in relationship for a few years in the past.
However, Snehalata broke the relationship with him. On Saturday, Snehalata who is a resident of Dindoshi, Malad (east), was celebrating her birthday with her friends when Shirangi visited her residence and tried to gift her an expensive ring.
Snehalata rejected the gift and asked him to leave. She then left her residence in a rickshaw with her friends to a deluxe hotel in the Bangur Nagar area of Malad (west). Shirangi followed her to the hotel and kissed and groped her. Snehalata rushed to the police station where a case was registered at midnight on Sunday.
“He has been arrested and produced before the magistrate’s court on Sunday. He has been sent to police custody for further investigation,” said PSI Ganesh Todkar of Bangur Nagar police station.
