Bizman held for raping partner

The DB Marg police has arrested a businessman for allegedly raping his business partner on various instances after blackmailing and threatening to defame her if she did not give into his sexual demands.
The arrested accused has been identified as Jitendra Mohan Badale (28), who co-owns a firm, Asmi Creation, with its office located in Parel.
According to the police, the complainant in the case is a Grant Road resident, who used to work as an interior designer with a renowned multinational company.
After the victim’s relationship with her husband strained, she decided to start her own interior designing business in 2006, to keep herself busy. She met Badale, who runs a colour-paint and screen-printing business. Both became good friends during the course of their business dealings. Thereafter, they began working together at Asmi Creations.
“The victim in her complaint to the police said Badale knew that her relationship with her husband was strained. He took advantage of that to get close to her and one day, he forced himself on her when she was alone at her place,” said an officer requesting anonymity.
The victim further alleges that Badale had been raping her in their firm’s office since the last few years. He had once made her drink alcohol and raped her when she was in an inebriated state. When the victim opposed, he threatened to defame her by revealing everything to her husband and family, the officer added.
Another officer said that the accused had even blackmailed her saying that if she did not give in to his sexual demands, she would face dire consequences. The accused took the victim to various lodges in Shivaji Park and Hindmata and repeatedly raped her.
Frustrated with the harassment, the victim recently tried to commit suicide by consuming sleeping pills, but survived as her family rushed her to the nearby Saifi Hospital.
On Monday, the victim along with her family members approached the DB Marg police and lodged an offence with them. Badale was arrested and booked under Section 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
