Blue corner notice for crooks
The police on Monday will initiate the process to get a blue corner notice issued against the two Bulgarian crooks who allegedly stole data of ATM cards from Axis Bank’s ATM at the DGP office.
A police officer on Sunday confirmed, “We have identified the accused, who are in their late 20s and collected their passport and visa details. They also filled the Form C (a must for foreign nationals) while checking into the Colaba hotel. Soon, we will be issuing a blue collar notice against them through Interpol so that if they try to fly from any airport across the world, they will be detained immediately.”
A red corner notice cannot be issued as it can only be done once the chargesheet is filled in the case. “We are also going through the details of the international phonecalls made by the accused during their stay in the Colaba hotel. So far, the involvement of any local gang or person has not emerged,” said the officer.
A red corner notice allows for the immediate arrest of the person concerned, whereas a blue corner notice only allows detention.
