Board to edu officers: Set up control rooms
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) issued a circular on Wednesday, asking all district education officers to set up control rooms and report the details of examinations held to the board office on a daily basis. The concept of the control rooms is on the lines of the election commission since the past two elections.
Sarjerao Jadhav, chairman MSBSHSE said that there were many problems faced by the exam conductors, but the board never got a whiff of them, resulting in inconvenience to students as well as all those involved in the examination process.
“This is a first-of-its-kind initiative being taken by the board. The exam conductors need to report any issues pertaining strikes, transport issues, goof ups in exam centres, water shortage, technical glitches and power cuts, etc. The exam conductors have to inform the education officers of their district/areas on how the exams were conducted and if they need any kind of immediate help. The education officer has to pass on the information to the divisional head, who in turn will report the same to us. This will enable us to act quickly and we would be able to keep tab on each and every exam centre at a time,” said Mr Jadhav.
Apart from this, the control units are expected to report preparations and developments at each exam centre to the state board head office at Pune during the HSC and SSC exam.
