CET in 3rd week of March: DTE
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has issued a notification about the Common Entrance Test (CET) for engineering and pharmacy courses that has been scheduled for May 16.
According to an official of the DTE, the application process is scheduled to begin from the third week of March after the completion of the HSC board exams.
With an aim to make application for the test easy for Class 12 students, the DTE has made the application process online from this year, however, students will have to collect the form from the designated notified colleges in each of the eight divisions in the state.
“Students wanting to appear for the CET will have to inform their high school/junior college about their intention of appearing for the test. Students will have to pay `700 for the open category and `500 for the backward class category, which will then be processed by the respective high school/junior college by preparing a demand draft which will be sent to the notified college,” said the official.
The official added that students will, however, have to fill the form online by logging on to the DTE website after collecting the application kit from their respective high school/junior college. After filling the form, the student will have to take two printouts and submit the same to their high school/junior college.
The principal will sign one form and return it to the student, which will be treated as the receipt-cum identity card. Out station students will have to complete the procedure through the notified colleges directly.
