Congress slams teachers, doctors for strike

The state Congress unit has criticised teachers and doctors for holding strikes and has asked them to end it immediately.
Party president Manikrao Thakre on Thursday said that it is wrong to hold people’s lives and future to ransom. “They (teachers and doctors) must call off their strike immediately on humane grounds and resolve the matter by discussing it with the state government,” Mr Thakre said.
On queries related to the ongoing strike, Mr Thakre said, “In a democracy everyone has the right to protest for their demands, but one must keep in mind that his act does not harm or affect others’ lives. Protesting is fine to one extent, but one should not be so stubborn, especially when chief minister Prithviraj Chavan is ready to discuss the matter.”
The Congress leader said that each and every demand cannot be approved. “Also, some cannot be implemented immediately due to technical reasons. These issues can be resolved with discussions only,” he said.
“I admit that the matter is serious and has become a cause for concern. Doctors must start an OPD immediately as the court has also directed them to end their strike,” Mr Thakre said.
Meanwhile, he also informed that in view of the Lok Sabha election 2014, the party has organised a two-day state-level orator training camp in Balewadi, Pune on April 27 and 28. Two party workers from every tehsil have been invited for the camp, in order to create excellent orators for the party, he announced.
Mr Thakre stated that the party has formed review committees to monitor the severe drought situation in the state. The committees will monitor the mitigation programmes run by the state. It will have to submit its weekly report to the concerned guardian minister, sampark minister, MPCC chief and chief minister Prithviraj Chavan.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
