Cops find stolen SUV of Shinde kin

The Bandra police late on Saturday night found the stolen granite coloured Pajero car, belonging to the son-in-law of Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde. The car was found abandoned outside a slum in Bandra (w). The Bandra police has handed over the case to NM Joshi Marg police, who are on the lookout for the thief.
According to an official from the NM Joshi Marg police station at Lower Parel, the driver of Raj Shroff, Vijaykishan Kharat, registered a theft case under Section 379 of the IPC on February 15.
Mr Shroff is married to Sushilkumar Shinde’s daughter Preeti and is executive director of Charak Pharma Pvt. Ltd. Mr Shroff is also the general secretary of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee.
The car is registered in the name of Ashilles Trading Private Limited. Mr Kharat had parked the car near his residence in Bawala Compound in the jurisdiction of NM Joshi Marg on Thursday night. The car was reportedly stolen from there in the early hours on Friday morning.
On Saturday, at around 11.10 pm, his other daughter Praniti Shinde saw the Pajero car near Lilavati Hospital signal and asked her driver to give it a chase. Mr Kharat chased the car and after overtaking it blocked its way. The thief stopped the Pajero car and waited for the driver to get off. As Mr Kharat charged towards the Pajero, the thief took a reverse turn and in no time swerved the car towards the south-bound lane of the SV Road, and sped towards Bandra reclamation.
Mr Kharat informed the Bandra police later, who swung into action and a team led by senior police inspector, Abhay Shastri of the Bandra police informed the control room at around 11.36 pm, that the Pajero has been traced. The police then found the car abandoned.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
