Couple found dead under mysterious circumstances

A couple, working as labourers at a construction site here was found dead under mysterious circumstances, the police said on Saturday. The incident came to light on Friday after their bodies were found lying in a decomposed state in a room in the township, they said.

The deceased identified as Neelam Patil and Shakeel Mohamad, hailing from Karnataka had come down to Navghar, and worked as labourers under a contractor. They had been staying in a room since a couple of months, the police said.

According to neighbours, foul smell was emanating from the room in the early hours on Friday, when they checked in and found the duo dead. The couple was ill for a long time. The police has registered a case of accidental death are carrying out further investigations.
