De-addiction meet in Nagpur
Maharashtra social justice department will hold a state-level literary meet here on de-addiction on October 2 and 3. CM Prithiviraj Chavan and deputy CM Ajit Pawar will inaugurate the meet on October 2, Maharashtra minister for social justice, Shivajirao Moghe said.
“The social justice department of Maharashtra has instituted Mahatma Gandhi De-addiction Award, which will be given to individuals and institutions for their contributions in the field of de-addiction campaign,” Mr Moghe said.
The event will be jointly hosted by the Social Justice Department, Nagpur University and Dhanwate National College. Union minister for social justice Kumari Selja is expected for the meet, which will have discussions, workshops, seminars, symposium and lectures.
The department will also hold the first state-level literary and cultural meet for physically challenged people on October 19 and 20, Mr Moghe added.

Sanha Gadh gets kadam’s attention
Mumbai: Forest minister Patangarao Kadam has instructed government officials to complete the infrastructure projects undertaken in the vicinity of Sanha Gadh within the stipulated time. On Saturday, he reviewed the development works being carried out at the fort and surrounding areas. He asked the concerned officials to engage additional police force to regulate traffic in the ghat section on weekends and holidays. He said that in order to prevent chaos at the fort, the forest department will provide space to set up a police chowkI near the fort. The rural police would deploy additional force to monitor the traffic and conduct proper patrolling in the area.
