Designer’s body found in well

A 43-year-old fashion designer from Juhu Tara Road, Santa Cruz (east), was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside an 18-feet deep well in the Fonseca resort at Gorai beach on Sunday afternoon. He had gone there on Saturday night to attend a birthday party.
The Gorai police said the deceased, Anil Philip Cherian’s, body was found floating in the well with around eight feet of water. His wife suspects that he might have been murdered.
At around 10.30 pm on Saturday night, Cherian had phoned his colleague Minal Gupta (19). Ms Gupta had been working for him for the past few months. She informed him that she was at a party and Mr Cherian asked her if he could join them.
She took her friend Aishwarya’s (19) permission as it was her birthday and invited him. Around nine to ten youngsters aged between 18 and 22 years were present at the party.
Cherian allegedly got heavily drunk and left the party at around 3.30 am. His phone was switched off and he was nowhere to be found after that. After searching for him till Sunday afternoon, Ms Gupta and her friends checked out thinking he must have left.
When he didn’t return home, his wife Shivani (41) phoned Ms Gupta who narrated the whole story. Shivani then approached the Gorai police with a missing complaint. A few hours later, the police was informed that the body was spotted by a staff member of the resort.
Senior police inspector of Gorai police station, Deepak Bagwe said, “The autopsy report revealed that there is no internal or external injury. However, Cherian’s viscera samples have been sent to the forensic lab to ascertain if he was poisoned. An accidental death report has been recorded and further probe is on to find out if he fell into the well or someone pushed him in.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
