Drunk dad pushes daughter to death

The police on Thursday registered a complaint against an alcoholic forcausing his own daughter’s death during a domestic argument. He pushed his wife, causing their nine-month-old daughter to fall from her arms on Wednesday evening. The baby died while under treatment on Thursday morning.
According to the Malwani police, the accused has been identified as Sanjay Gupta (32), a tempo driver staying in Shankarwadi near the INS Hamla, Madh. Gupta, an alcoholic, would come home drunk every night and pick fights with his wife Sunita, these fights would often turn violent.
“On Wednesday evening, Gupta reached home drunk as usual and picked a fight with Sunita, who was at the time putting their nine-month-old daughter Khushi to sleep. In a fit of rage, Gupta pushed Sunita hard, and Khushi slipped from her embrace, falling on the floor. Sunita, with the help of some neighbours, rushed Khushi to a clinic in the area, where the doctor recommended hospitalisation in view of Khushi’s er age,” said an officer with the Malwani police.
Khushi was subsequently shifted to Bhagwati Hospital in Borivali, where she died during treatment in the early hours of Thursday morning. Doctors said that Khushi was weak since birth and already suffering from fever and weakness when she fell, which worsened her injuries.
A furious Sunita went straight to the police station and filed a complaint against Gupta. “We have booked Gupta under Section 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code. We are waiting for him to complete Khushi’s last rites before arresting him,”
said Jaywant Hargude, assistant commissioner of police, Malwani division.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
