Four held for molestation
Three schoolgirls from a local school in Sewri were molested on the road by three youth recently. The RAK Marg police has claimed that it would arrest all the three accused within 24 hours of registration of the offence. In another incident of molestation, the LT Marg police has arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly molesting the wife of a south Bombay-based restaurateur.
In the incident that took place in Sewri, the arrested accused are identified as Asif Borkar (21), Junaid M. Shaikh (18) and Faizan Shaikh (18), all residents of the Rafi Ahmed Kidwayi Nagar, Sewri.
According to the police, the complainant in the case is a small time businessman from the Sewri area who lives with his family. The complaint has a daughter who studies in Class 9 in a local school.
“The complainant in his complaint has stated that when his daughter was returning from school along with two of her friends on the evening of August 5, three boys stopped the girls on the road. They passed lewd comments and touched them inappropriately. The girls somehow managed to flee the spot,” said an officer from the RAK Marg police station.
“We arrested the boys from the area on August 7,” said another officer.
In other incident, the LT Marg police has arrested one Vithoba P. Vaghre (28) for allegedly molesting the wife of a South-Bombay based restaurateur while she was waiting for her husband in the Thakurdwar area on Thursday.
“At around 10.30 pm, the victim was waiting at the bus stop alone. An unknown person approached her and told her that he can offer her a role in a movie and grabbed her hand,” said a police officer.
