‘He seemed cheerful, smiled when he saw me’

Actor Amitabh Bachchan visited ailing star Dilip Kumar at Lilavati hospital in suburban Bandra where the latter was admitted following a mild heart attack.
Bachchan paid a visit on late Monday night, following which he made a detailed entry on his official blog and posted a tweet on the microblogging site, Twitter. The tweet read, “Then ... went and visited Dilip Saheb, Yusuf Khan, Dilip Kumar my icon inspiration, who lies in hospital… He is well and recovers! (sic).”
On his blog, Bachchan wrote, “I had never met him so … in bed, in hospital, ailing and troubled and harassed by all the medical fuss around him ... Dilip Kumar !! the great thespian, the wonder of Indian cinema, the ultimate performer in my eyes, lying there in Lilavati Hospital, recovering from a recent mild heart attack ! (sic).”
”He seemed cheerful... at least when he saw me… Saira ji warned me that he had been quite irritable and non cooperative throughout the day, and so to excuse any kind of untoward behaviour that he may dole out to me… But he smiled when he saw me and when I held his hand he gripped it like I would never be able to extricate myself from it … (sic),” Bachchan wrote
Kumar was admitted to the hospital on September 15. Hospital sources said that the 90-year-old actor has recovered well and will most likely to be discharged on Wednesday. “He is absolutely alright now. He was in fact fit to go home today itself, but I think he would leave the hospital by tomorrow. He is in his suite now,” said the source.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
