Irked employer murders woman
A 20-year-old man allegedly murdered a 30-year-old woman related to him over a trivial issue in a chawl at Dahisar (east) in the early hours of Tuesday.
The fight started when the accused abused the victim for not serving him dinner on time.
According to Dahisar police the incident took place at around 3 am in the Konkanipada area. The accused Jitendra Dubey is a distant cousin of victim Sanju’s husband Satyaprasad Dubey.
While Satyaprasad is a cab driver, Jitendra works at an embroidery unit. Satyaprasad used cook for Jitendra and his brother Dinesh, for which the duo used to pay him `2,300 a month.
On March 6, Sanju who lived in their village in Uttar Pradesh, came to Mumbai along with her 14-year-old niece
Neetu.
They had planned to stay in the city till May after which they were to return for a wedding back in village.
Sanju started cooking food for the two and on one of the days she did not serve the food on time, which irked Jitendra. They fought over the issue with Jitendra hurling abuses at Sanju.
Humiliated by the incident, Sanju confided in her husband.
An enraged Satyaprasad hunted down Jitendra and slapped him multiple times. Satyaprasad warned him to keep away from his house and wife.
Jitendra seeking an opportunity for revenge targeted Sanju when Satyaprasad was at work.
Senior police inspector Ansar Peerzade of Dahisar police station said, “Jitendra smashed the victim’s head with a heavy object and abused, and threatened her niece Neetu when she tried to raise an alarm. He then fled and is on the run.”
“We have registered a case of murder against him and are making inquiries with everyone who knew Jitendra at his work place. We will surely nab him,” added Mr Peerzade.
