Jiah’s last call was to Suraj Pancholi

Actress Jiah Khan, who allegedly committed suicide in her Juhu apartment called boyfriend Suraj Pancholi minutes before she killed herself. “Jiah’s last phone call was to Suraj at 10.53 pm. The call lasted for a minute or two,” said the police on the basis of the telephone records.
In one of text messages to Suraj, Jiah alleged that he had betrayed her and was dating another woman called ‘Neetu’. Suraj is said to have reverted saying, “There is nothing between us. You have misunderstood.”
Another SMS sent by Jiah said, “Why are you so cold?” to which Suraj said, “No, I am busy with work”. Harassed by her constant phone calls, Suraj passed on the phone to his attendant Deva who attended a few phone calls.
The two had an affair for around a year. Suraj and Jiah had gotten in touch with each other through Facebook and the police is checking their accounts to see if they could find anything that would help their probe.
“As of now, we haven’t got any evidence to book any person for forcing her into taking the extreme step. We will be recording the statements of Jiah’s mother as well,” said additional commissioner Vishwas Nangre-Patil.
Another police officer said that the fact that her career was not going as planned was another reason for her depression. “She had not appeared in a single film since Housefull 2 three years ago. On June 2, she had returned from Hyderabad where her auditions for a Telugu movie did not go well. This further added to her depression,” the officer said.
Suraj was all set to make his debut in Bollywood. He was caught in 2008 along with his sister at a rave party. Both had tested positive for consuming a contraband substance, said a police source.
The actress’ body was taken to JJ Hospital in Byculla for post-mortem. Dr T.P. Lahane, dean of JJ Hospital said, “The post-mortem report has concluded that there has been no foul play and the actress died due to asphyxiation.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
