Laptop stolen on flight, says mnc executive
A senior employee of a multinational company lost his laptop while flying to Delhi from Goa on an IndiGo flight on Monday.
Police sources disclosed that the incident came to light when the victim, Salil Bhatnagar, who works with a leading multinational company in a managerial post, was coming from Goa on IndiGo flight 6E-336. He told the police that he was carrying a handbag in which he had placed a laptop and some other belongings.
“I was working on it even in the aircraft while returning from Goa. When we reached Delhi and I collected my handbag from the aircraft baggage cabin, the laptop was not there. When I asked the passengers around me, they feigned ignorance. I checked with the airlines as well and they told me that they have not found the laptop. It is surprising that things can get stolen from aircraft,” Mr Bhatnagar said. A formal complaint was lodged at IGI (domestic) police station and a case of theft was registered against unknown persons.
“We have registered a case and investigations are underway. The laptop has not been recovered,” DCP (IGI airport) R.A. Sanjeev said.

Cong pulls up socks for ’14 assembly polls

After the shock defeat in MCD polls the Congress party has geared up for action ahead of the Assembly elections next year. Chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday directed the principal secretary to speed up the work of authorisation of unauthorised colonies. Earlier, the Delhi lokayukta had pulled up the city government for issuing authorisation certificates to fake and non-existing unauthorised colonies, which led to the cancellation of certificates.
“There are many difficulties and problems in the authorisation process. We had a meeting and all the circumstances were discussed. We are now going to start the procedure and complete the process as soon as possible. The principal secretary will look after the progress of the work,” Ms Dikshit said.
She emphasised that the people living in unauthorised colonies are more important than the technicalities in the process.
“The problems like green belt or others will surface in many areas but we believe that the citizen of Delhi is more important than the green area,” she added.
However, none of the Delhi Congress leaders came forward to speak about the defeat in MCD polls. Ms Dikshit again said that it should not be connected to anything else it was just a civic poll.
