Man charged with rape for conning girl

The Chembur police has registered a case of rape against a man, who conned a woman into getting married to him, though he already had a wife and young boy.
The woman had also attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills after the accused’s family refused to accept her. The police is yet to arrest the accused as he has gotten himself admitted in a Kurla hospital citing illness. The victim was earlier married to a man named Babulal Khorwal when she was a child. “She started living with him around four years ago, but later divorced him as he constantly harassed her and picked up fights with her,” the victim’s sister said.
According to the sister, she then met Mukesh Kothari (34), a resident of Kamgar Nagar near Chembur, who promised to take care of her. “The two then got married in a temple on April 2. However, when she moved in with him, she learnt that he was already married and had a four-year-old son,” she said adding, “His family did not accept my sister and accused her of bringing bad luck to the family. She pleaded innocence and tried convincing them that she was unaware that he was already married, but they did not listen.”
The accused and the victim then moved into a lodge, where they lived briefly. Later, a relative convinced the family to accept the girl, after whi-ch she was allowed to stay with them.
On Ma-rch 20, when the family had gone out, she consumed pills out of depression.
The girl was then admitted to a hospital and later discharged following which she filed a complaint with the police, alleging rape against the accused.
B.B. Rathod, senior police inspector, Chem-bur police, confirmed the development. “We are waiting to arrest the accused as he has admitted himself to the Disha Nursing Home.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
