Man, house help assaulted, robbed
The owner of a city-based security agency and his male domestic help landed in the hospital with grievous injuries after being viciously attacked by robbers in the former’s residence at Nerul in Navi Mumbai.
The incident took place at midnight on Monday when the two were sleeping. After assaulting them with knives and choppers, the two accused fled with cash and jewellery worth `7.8 lakh.
Vijayhind Singh (55), proprietor of the Guru Security Agency, and his servant Ashok Yadav (28) were sleeping in Singh’s bungalow, Jai Gurudev, at sector 24 in Nerul. “At around 2.30 am, two robbers entered the house through the glass sliding doors and began attacking the two. Vijay requested them to stop assaulting him and said they could take whatever they wanted. The robbers then snatched away the valuables he was wearing — a gold chain, gold bracelet and a diamond ring totaling `5.8 lakh. They resumed the attack and then fled from the spot. Ashok Yadav then called the police control room which relayed the information to us,” said senior PI Rajkumar Chaphekar. They additionally stole cash worth around `2 lakh.
The police then reached the spot with ambulances in tow and the two were taken to MGM Hospital in Vashi where they are undergoing treatment.
A case has been filed against the unknown assailants and the police has clarified that no arrests have been made.
