Man kills pregnant daughter

A pregnant teenager, who married out of her caste, was strangulated by her father in the Mahatma-nagar locality of Nashik on Friday morning.
According to the Sarkarwada police, Eknath Kisan Kumbhare (38) went to his daughter Pramilla Deepak Kamble’s (19) house.
He told his daughter that her mother was ill and admitted to Savarkar Hospital.
On hearing about her mother’s condition, Pramilla sat in the autorickshaw with her father. Her in-laws knew that her father was opposed to her marriage, but let her go because of her mother’s poor health.
When the autorickshaw reached Chopda Lawns, Kumbhare took out a nylon rope and strangulated his daughter at around 12 noon. The autorickshaw driver Pramod Mangal Ahire (35) tried to intervene, but could not stop a determined Kumbhare.
After the police was alerted, the killer father was arrested before he could escape. In the meantime, the autorickshaw driver took the unconscious woman to Nashik Civil Hospital, where the doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
The police has registered a case against Kumbhare and he will be produced in the court on Saturday. Kumbhare is from the More Mala area at Hanuman-wadi in Panchavati.
Earlier, a father had murdered his daughter as she was found having an affair with a man from another community in Pathri Village of Jalgaon district on March 12, 2012.
