Minister for screening RGV film in Parliament
Senior BJP leader L.K. Advani attended the screening of Ram Gopal Varma’s The Attacks of 26/11 at the films division auditorium in New Delhi on Friday. The senior leader reportedly exclaimed “brilliant” after watching the film on the 2006 Mumbai terror attacks.
Various leaders, cutting across party lines, were seen at the film’s screening. Parliamentarians like Shahnawaz Hussain, Sanjay Nirupam, Naveen Jindal, Balbir Punj, Raj Babbar and Ram Vilas Paswan were among those who attended the screening.
A large faction of politicians was impressed by the film and said that the film unfolded one of the most audacious attacks on Indian soil post independence.
The director of the film, Ram Gopal Varma, patiently waited for everyone’s reaction and praises for his work, and wasn’t disappointed.
Parliament Rajeev Pratap Rudy reportedly insisted on the film’s special screening in Parliament so that all
his counterparts get an opportunity to watch the film.
Ram Gopal Varma confirmed that he had indeed got an overwhelming response from politicians who were present at the screening.
“Advaniji said that the film was brilliant,” said Varma. The director who had earlier directed hits like Sarkar and Company added that Mr Rudy was keen on getting the film screened for all the MPs in Parliament.
