Mumbai sees first swine flu hospitalisation
Mumbai on Thursday recorded its seventh swine flu case and the first hospitalisation after the breakout of the flu this year.
A 23-year-old Dharavi resident became the first person to be hospitalised for the disease in Kasturba Hospital.
“The patient came to the hospital on Wed-nesday and after his reports were positive, we admitted him. We have giving him Tam-iflu,” said Dr Mangala Gomare, assistant he-alth officer, BMC.
In Pune, the H1N1 virus has claimed nine lives in a month’s time and 219 have tested positive.
