Mumbaikars can ‘stamp’ identity once again
Want to have your photograph on a postal stamp! It is possible now as the popular “My Stamps” is back for Mumbaikars once again.
This would be the second such opportunity that will let people get a personalised stamp.
“During this weekend, we will put up our philately exhibition at the Horniman Circle Cultural Festival,” said an official from the postal department.
Before this, Mumbaikars had a similar opportunity in February this year, when the postal department had received tremendous response and was flooded with bookings. Revellers had made full use of the offer that was open for merely a week. The postal department sold an astounding 4,400 sheets of stamps in just five days.
“Customers need to have a hard or a soft copy of the photograph, whereas the corporate clients will have to submit an application with their official letterheads. For personalised stamps, people will have to be present in person,” informed the
official.
A single sheet with 12 stamps would cost the customer `300. “As there was an overwhelming response last time, this time around 6,000 sheets have been made available,” he
said.
“Also, people can get their photographs printed on the stamp along with a photo of flowers,” added the official.
