Narco test on son, girlfriend
The police probing the murder of Sandhya Singh, the sister of music composer duo Jatin Lalit and yesteryear actresses Sulakshna and Vijeta Pandit, wants to conduct narco analysis tests on her son and his girlfriend. The police on Wednesday, moved an application in this regard before a Navi Mumbai court that gave time to Sandhya’s son and his girlfriend to submit their replies by July 26.
Sandhya’s son Raghuveer Singh had filed an anticipatory bail application in the Thane sessions court, which was rejected on Tuesday. However, the police has not arrested him, due to lack of concrete evidence against him. But, to take the investigation on the right track, investigators have decided to carry out narco tests on him.
“We have moved an application in a Navi Mumbai court on Wednesday seeking permission to carry out narco tests (polygraph, brain mapping and lie detector) on Raghveer and his girlfriend Shreya,” said a senior crime branch official.
The court gave time to both of them to submit their replies by July 26, the officer added. Consent of the person on whom the tests are supposed to be conducted is mandatory.
Raghuveer has been on investigators’ radar since day one. Shreya is under the purview of suspicion because Raghuveer shared a bitter relationship with Sandhya, and Shreya was reportedly the reason for further resentment between the mother and son, said another officer.
