‘Rahul made sacrifice to end dynasty politics’
Secretary of the All India Congress Committee Syoraj Jeevan Valmiki on Wednesday said that Rahul Gandhi is a “revolutionary” who has made a “sacrifice” to stop the propagation of dynastic politics. According to Mr Valmiki, Mr Gandhi did not get married so that he put an end to dynastic politics.
Mr Valmiki on Wednesday addressed the media at Mumbai Regional Congress Committee office in Mumbai, where he revealed the “secret” behind Mr Gandhi’s bachelorhood.
“Everyone from the media has been asking about Rahul Gandhi, but the media should be highlighting why he has not married. He does not want to get married, because if he gets married then he will have children and then if they also come into politics, it would mean propagation of dynastic politics, which he doesn’t want,” said Mr Valmiki.
However, when journalists asked more questions about Mr Gandhi’s bachelorhood, the AICC secretary clarified that he had not directly spoken to Mr Gandhi, but had read about the sacrifice in a newspaper report.
In fact, later Mr Valmiki also apologised to the media with folded hands in the same press conference.
Interestingly, MRCC president Janardan Chandurkar was seated next to Mr Valmiki, but did nothing to stop Mr Valmiki.
