Railway cop found dead in train
The body of a 37-year-old police constable attached with the railway police was recovered inside a local train compartment at Ambernath early on Thursday morning.
The deceased Sanjay Sudhakar Kulkarni working with the Dadar railway police was on sick leave for the last one-and-half months. However, the railway police has ruled out any foul play and suspect that Kulkarni died a natural death.
However, the post-mortem reports are awaited in the case in order to ascertain the exact cause of death. According to the Kalyan railway police, Kulkarni’s body was recovered at the Ambernath railway station in the local train that came from Karjat and was heading towards the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST). The passengers noticed him lying lifeless after which the station master was alerted. Kulkarni was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead. Kulkarni, who was a resident of Ambernath was ill for the past few months. “Although, there seems no foul play, we have preserved his viscera reports which will be sent for further chemical analysis” said police inspector Ashokkumar Jadhav from the Kalyan railway police. Kulkarni is survived by his wife and daughter.
