Ready to work under Bhujbal: Munde

Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde on Saturday asked the senior NCP leader and state public works department (PWD) minister Chhagan Bhujbal to lead the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community for its betterment. Mr Munde also demanded a separate ministry for the development of the community.
All India Muslim OBC Organisation (AIMOBC) has organised a national level conference of the OBC community attended by many senior political leaders across party lines at New Delhi on Saturday.
During his address, Mr Munde for the very first time expressed his desire to work under the leadership of Mr Bhujbal, who is the seniormost OBC leader in the state. Mr Munde said, “Mr Bhujbal should come forward for the betterment of the community.
For the sake of progress of the OBCs, we are ready to work under his leadership.”
Both Mr Bhujbal and Mr Munde belong to the OBC community and have shared the dais many times setting aside their political differences.
The deputy BJP leader also made some demands, while addressing the gathering. He said, “For the betterment of the OBC community, there has to be an independent ministry, like the minorities ministry. If this happens, then all the problems can be addressed at a common place and people can be held responsible for the shortcomings.”
Mr Munde even demanded a separate census for the community.
He said, “Separate census of OBCs is the need of the hour in order to know our exact population. Reservation in the electoral process is our long-pending demand and the census will help us to press this demand before the government.”
The OBC community has been demanding for reservation in the electoral process on the lines of the Schedule Caste (SC) and Schedule Tribes (ST) community.
Mr Bhujbal, Sharad Yadav (JDU), Sudhakar Gangane (Congress) and AIMOBC president Shabbir Ansari also attended the conference.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
