Sena demands ouster of Kunte for ‘aiding’ MCA
The Shiv Sena has handed over a memorandum to the CM regarding Mumbai Cricket Association’s (MCA) “illegal” recreational complex in Kandivali.
While demanding that the plot on which a recreational complex has been constructed be vacated for a playground, the Shiv Sena has also demanded the ouster of BMC commissioner Sitaram Kunte for allegedly aiding the MCA. The CM assured the Shiv Sena delegation that it would examine documents and take appropriate decision on the issue.
“The CM’s assurance to check documents related to the MCA complex is itself the victory of the Shiv Sena’s stand. We will also move the Bombay high court against the MCA,” said Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam, who led the Sena delegation.
The Shiv Sena has claimed that the BMC had given the said plot to the MCA to develop a cricket ground. “If the MCA
wanted to use the cricket ground, they should have approached the BMC and the corporation could have given it to them on lease. But instead, BMC commissioner Sitaram Kunte gave permission to the MCA to build a club and other facilities. These permissions were given within a day and the MCA has constructed a five-star club house there,” added Mr Kadam.
Sena also pointed out that the MCA did the constructions on 40,000 square feet, despite the permissible limit being 240 square feet.
