Senior citizen knocked dead by teen biker
A 69-year-old woman was killed after a speeding biker on his Bajaj Pulsar knocked her dead in the Dindoshi area of Malad (east) on Thursday.
The Dindoshi police said that the incident took place at around 2.20 pm when the victim Chandraben Kirtilal Padiya,
who lives in Parshuram Puriya building had just come out of her building and was crossing the Haji Bapu Road.
Chandraben sustained grievous head injuries and was rushed by her family members to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
“The 18-year-old biker, a college student, was not under the influence of alcohol. He did not run away from the spot and was arrested under Section 304 A (causing death due to negligence) of the Indian Penal Code. He lives in Jogeshwari and was on his way to meet some relatives,” said sub-inspector, Sarjerao Patil of the Dindoshi police station.
The deceased senior citizen is survived by her husband, two sons and their families.
