Six people booked in obscene video case
The Matunga police has registered a gang-rape and obscenity case against six persons, including three women for allegedly raping a minor girl and filming the act.
The incident had taken place in 2009. The women were booked for helping the accused and assisting him to make the obscene video.
The victim was promised by the accused that her face would be digitally morphed and her identity would not be revealed. However, the video started circulating a few weeks ago, which showed her face. “When the victim’s aunt saw the video about a month back and questioned her character, she decided to approach the police. A complaint was filed at Wadala police station and later transferred to us,” said senior police inspector S.L. Parab of Matunga police station. The girl, who is now 19 years old, lives in a slum in the city and is married with a year-old daughter while her husband works in the Gulf. She was a minor when the episode took place.
According to the police, the victim was approached by a man, who introduced himself as Shahnuj. He lured the girl to come to Delhi to earn money and also promised to marry her.
He was married and lived in her locality. But, after reaching Delhi, he convinced her into making an obscene movie, where he promised to morph her face. Shahnuj’s wife Rasheeda, friend Raju and Leena also accompanied the duo to the capital.
The girl was taken to a one-storey house, where the obscene film involving the girl and Shahnuj was made. An unidentified friend of Shahnuj videographed the act.
The girl then got married after coming back. The police has registered a case of gangrape, kidnapping, obscene acts, kidnapping and inducing to marriage and common intention under the Indian Penal Code. The charge of gangrape has been added since all the accused were involved in making of the film.
