Spurned by lady, goon kills her husband
A 29-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by some goons in Bhandup early on Wednesday. The Bhandup police arrested Ravi Suresh Chandalia alias Salman along with five others for allegedly murdering Rajendra Maruti Narvekar, whose wife Soni (23) was being “wooed” by Salman.
According to the police, for the last few months, Salman had been trying to make advances at Soni, and was forcing her to leave Rajendra and marry him instead.
While Soni lived with her relatives at Valmiki Nagar in Bhandup, Narvekar lived in Wadala and worked at the Metro Shopping Mall in Bhandup. This was Soni’s second marriage, from which she had a three-year-old daughter. Narvekar would visit Soni every fortnight, since he reportedly did not get along with her relatives and lived separately.
At around 12.45 am, Narvekar had come to visit Soni, when Salman found out about his presence. “He, along with five other men entered the house, and started assaulting the victim when Soni intervened, and pleaded with Salman to leave before the locking the door from the inside. Knowing that the accused would still try to beat him up, Soni made Narvekar escape from the window,” said Shrirang Nadgauda, senior inspector Bhandup police.
“One of the accused spotted Narvekar climbing out and alerted the others, and he was chased till the station road and stabbed to death. The victim sustained a deep cut to the chest and has an exit wound in the back,” he added.
The six men were arrested and have reportedly confessed to the crime. The other five accused include Sandeep Mahavir Tushamar alias Mirinda, Ravi Jagdish Taka alias Gotya, Vijay Suresh Chandalia alias Prem, Yogesh Rajesh Bidlan
and Sunny Phulkumar Lohera.
