Supporters ready to hold three-day fast
Sporting Anna caps, T-Shirts and waving the tri-colour, people from across the country were seen doing a repeat of Azad Maidan at MMRDA ground in Bandra on Monday, where anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare will begin his three-day fast from Tuesday.
Braving the heat, hundreds of people assembled at MMRDA ground chanting slogans such as “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”. While few hundreds gathered at the venue, the figure is expected to rise exponentially by Tuesday morning. “I have come here to witness the agitation reach its logical end and to ensure that a strong Jan Lokpal Bill is passed. Corruption is spreading like cancer in the country and we are behind Anna to eradicate it,” said Sudhir Ojha (43), an advocate from Bihar, who has filed over 100 public interest litigations against corruption.
Ashok Pathania (34), a farmer from Himachal Pradesh said that the government would see the power of non-violence during this agitation.
