‘Tatkare is state’s Vadra’
BJP leader Dr Kirit Somaiya on Tuesday presented new documents to support his allegations of corruption against NCP ministers Chhagan Bhujbal and Sunil Tatkare.
Relying on documents collected through RTI, he claimed that a partner of the chartered accountancy firm that audited balance sheets of companies owned by Mr Tatkare’s family, was also a partner in one of the companies owned by the state minister’s son. He also claimed that Mr Tatkare was Maharashtra’s Robert Vadra.
The BJP leader further pointed out that on July 12 this year, the director general, ACB had sent a report with respect to PWD minister Bhujbal’s involvement in Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi.
Dr Somaiya pointed out that there was no further action taken on the ACB’s report or against Mr Tatkare. “The CM has issued orders to make inquiry against officials. But why is there no inquiry against the ministers?” asked the Ex-MP.
Dr Somaiya also released papers related to the Krishna Basin project and accused another minister Ramraje Nimbalkar of indulging in corrupt practices. He further alleged that the NCP fought the 2009 state Assembly election with the help of money collected from the irrigation scams. “All five irrigations corporations — Tapi, Godavari, Vidarbha, Krishna and Konkan — escalated their project costs in 2009,” Dr Somaiya said, adding, “NCP President Sharad Pawar supported Congress president Sonia Gandhi, while her son-in-law (Vadra) was facing allegations, because he needs Congress to help his ministers in the state.”
