Tewari questions Pawar stand

Union information and broadcasting minister Manish Tewari on Friday suggested that NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s opposition to the pending Food Security Bill could be duplicitous, as any bill that is to be tabled in the Parliament is first approved by the Cabinet. He was clearly indicating that as a member of the Union Cabinet, Mr Pawar must also have given his approval for the Bill.
Addressing a press conference at the MRCC office, the information and broadcasting minister criticised the BJP for not allowing the Food Security Bill to be tabled in this Budget Session. He said, “The BJP deliberately created an impasse in both the Houses of Parliament, only to prevent the Food Security Bill from being tabled. The UPA wants to remove hunger, while the NDA wants to remove the hungry,” he added.
On the question of an ally of UPA — the NCP chief — also opposing the Bill, Mr Tewari said, “I don’t want to break the secrecy of the Cabinet and I also respect Mr Pawar, but I want to clarify that any Bill that is to be tabled before Parliament has to be approved by the Cabinet.” He, however, added that he was confident that all the UPA allies were united on the issue of Food Security Bill.
Union information and broadcasting minister was in the city to present the Dadasaheb Phalke award to veteran actor Pran for his contribution to Indian cinema.
In view of Karnataka Assembly poll results, Mr Tewari said, “After the BJP was exposed by the Karnataka people, we are hoping that the people of the country will also deliberate about BJP and re-elect UPA III at the Centre. He went on to target Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and said, “We need to take some lessons from the past. The same fascination was shown towards a German leader by the then corporate leaders in 1930 and
the implications were disastrous for the whole world.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
